A unique cityscape and endless horizon
Los Angeles was the first place I lived in when arriving to the US, back in the days, so it literally feels like a place that has always been a part of me. There’s something magnetic about this unique cityscape, the endless horizon, and the relaxed yet electric energy that carried by the air. The golden glow of the sun that seems to shine just a little brighter here—everything about it feels like freedom.
As I make my way from LAX through the roads of Long Beach, Santa Monica, I stop along the pacific coast highway to get local fresh produce, eat my favourite Calamari and reconnect with the laid-back spirit of this place.
From there, it’s a visit to a local Israeli supermarket, tucked away in one of LA’s vibrant neighborhoods. Every dinner I cook here is Israeli at its core, but the spirit of LA is always present. The fresh, vibrant produce from local farmers' markets, the avocados that taste like they were picked straight from the sun, and the seafood that is as fresh as the morning tide—all of it makes its way into my dishes. LA’s energy, its creativity, and its appreciation for health and freshness influence every plate I prepare.
And it’s not just about the food. It’s the wines I bring from Israel paired with the relaxed, casual elegance that defines the West Coast. It’s the flavors of home meeting the breezy morning surf in Malibu.
